US Stock markets powered higher on Friday as a lower than expected non-Farm Payroll result increased hopes of swiffer rate cuts from the Federal Reserve Bank. NFP’s rose by 175k last month, the lowest print since last October and well short of the expected 243k increase, this prompted yields and the dollar to fall to multi-week lows and stocks to rally, with the major indices all locking in daily gains in excess of 1%.
Traders expect APAC markets to open on the front foot today after Wall Street’s strong close, with investors hoping that the momentum continues through what is a very light event risk day.
